Commission rules
Commission rules record what a consignor pays the auction house for selling their goods. They are seller-side terms and are separate from the buyer’s premium.
Flat and tiered rules
A rule may contain one rate for the complete hammer range or several tiers. A tier sets its minimum and maximum hammer price, commission percentage and optional fee per item.
The example rule uses 20% for the first range and 15% above the threshold. The screenshot uses seeded demonstration values, not customer terms.
Use a rule on a consignment
Choose the rule when creating or editing a consignment. The consignment keeps the rule with the agreed terms and may also contain a specific percentage or item-fee override.
Review a rule before making it active. Changing a shared rule can affect later calculations that refer to it, so create a new rule when the commercial agreement has materially changed.
