Timed and live auctions

Timed and live sessions use the same auction, catalogue and bidder records. The difference is how the lots move to a result.

Timed sessions

A timed session closes online, one lot at a time. You set the closing time of the first lot and the interval between lots. A late bid can extend the closing time according to the auction settings.

Timed sessions work well when bidders need time to compare lots and return to their watchlist. The account page keeps their followed lots and current bids together.

Live sessions

In a live session, the auctioneer sets the pace while room, phone and online activity meet in one sequence. Bidvise already contains the development interface for the clerk and the bidder, but this workflow remains gated outside production while it is completed and tested.

Development preview. The following screenshot is not a generally available production screen. Its interface is currently in Dutch and may change before release.

The preview shows the current lot, the bid status, the live video position and the next lots without the website navigation competing for space.

For launch material, timed bidding should be presented as available. Live bidding should remain labelled as in development until the production gate is removed.
