Bid increments

A bid increment table being edited
Each row sets the step size used up to a price threshold.

Bid increments are the permitted steps between bid amounts. A configuration is a table of price thresholds and step sizes.

For example, a table may use €10 steps below €200, €20 steps below €500 and €50 steps below €1,000. Larger amounts can use larger steps.

Build a valid table

Each threshold must be higher than the previous one. Step sizes must be positive, must not become smaller as the price rises and must divide their price range cleanly. Bidvise marks the row that prevents a table from being saved.

Keep more than one configuration when different kinds of sale need different bidding rhythms. Assign the appropriate table to the auction rather than changing a shared table shortly before bidding.

Review increment changes with the auction team. They affect the bid choices offered to every bidder using that configuration.
